Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. At 28, he’s focused only on walking a straight line – getting his teaching degree, working out at the gym religiously, and avoiding all the places and people that proved so destructive in his earlier life. The last thing he’s looking for is a serious relationship. But when Maria Sanchez crosses paths with him on a rainswept night in North Carolina, his plans are upended in a way that will rattle the foundations of his carefully structured life. As for Maria, the hardworking lawyer and daughter of Mexican immigrants, Colin will challenge every notion she’s ever had about herself and her future, making her question what truly makes her happy.
Before the couple has a chance to envision what a life together might look like, however, menacing reminders of events in Maria’s past begin to surface. And as the threat of violence begins to shadow her every step, she and Colin will be tested in increasingly terrifying ways. Will demons from their past destroy the tentative bonds they have forged, or will their love protect them, even in the darkest hour?
See Me is a story of obsession, reinvention, and a love that defies every expectation, reminding us that destiny often rests in our own hands – even in matters of the heart.
Loved it!! In âSee Meâ we meet Colin Hancock, a twenty eight year old who had a very aggressive an troubled youth. Now he is given a second chance in life, and he is doing his best to change his ways. Colin has started college, works hard for his money and works out more than three times a day. And above all he is getting his anger issues under control.Maria is working hard in a respectable lawyers office. She studied hard all her life, visits her parents regularly and she is very close with her…
How does he do it? Completely amazed Wow, it’s hard to find the right words for this. Nicholas Sparks has always been the romantic, but this, was such a twist and magnificent. The mystery that evolved this story constantly kept you guessing and on your toes. The romance and love between family and friends was remarkable. I literally couldn’t put it down. I’ve always loved his style of writing and this was different but had the same good wholesome aspects it always does, he stays true to himself but enhanced it with some mystery…
Great book. A great mystery. Colin has many anger issues and has a hard time not being abusive. Maybe not abusive but physical. He works out constantly because it calms his anxieties. But above all he is honest. He also has a best friend, Evan.Maria is a beautiful Mexican girl that comes to mean a great deal to Colin because she listens to his life story and cares for him anyway.Mystery comes. Who is trying to hurt Maria? You must read this book. I do think this is Mr. Sparks first real mystery.
