To B/A or not to B/A? ….Simply unmatched at $20! I must have approximately twenty different models of KZ in-ear monitors (IEMs). This ZST is Knowledge Zenith’s first venture into hybrid (dynamic driver + balanced armature) territory and in my humble opinion this is an excellent IEM.I tend to prefer a relatively neutral sound signature with a slight emphasis in both bass and treble, which is basically a mild “V” shaped sound signature. I find that an absolute neutral sound signature usually lacks enough energy for the genres I enjoy most, which are Classic Trance and Progressive (early Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Otello, DT8 Project), Chill Out, Breakbeat (Hybrid & Burufunk Remixes) and 80’s & 90’s (New Order, Secession, The Cure, Siouxie & The Banshees, Depeche Mode). They got it right! Updated!!! 7/21/17 I bought these IEM’s based on reviews. Well they were right. These headphones are great! They sound fantastic! Nice tight bass, smooth (not dull) mids, and clear highs. Very good sound stage. Way better than I expected. The build quality is good. I wouldn’t say incredible but it is good. I personally like the way the memory chord is, it wraps around my ears pretty good. The tips are good, I also bought 5mm foam tips for these and I’m torn between which I like better. They really aren’t too large. They fit in my ears just fine. All in all, I’m very pleased with this product and I expect to buy many more, especially because they are $20 bucks. Buy now. Unmatched tone at this price point. Compare to my Shure se215s. Foam ear tips a must. I cannot say enough about these remarkable headphones. I found out about them in music forums where many folks play live on stage with in-ears. They weren’t simply using them casually. The semi professionals and pros were using them as solid backups and volunteers as their mains. I must’ve had at least a dozen comments raving about them. I purchased a set as well as Mee M6 Pros (also a highly recommended IEM for the money $45) and compared both with my Shure se215s (the industry entry level standard — fantastic in ears).
