Great speaker but BEWARE of Amazon units. I want to say first that this speaker rocks! It is loud with great quality sound. It only lasts about 6 hours with the volume all the way up. It also does not connect to the Flip 4…yet. I called JBL customer service and found out they are planning to update the software August 2017 to allow the xtreme to connect to the Flip 4.But BEWARE of Amazon units. The unit I bought from Amazon said “Europe” on the bottom of the box and there was no serial number on the speaker itself. However, I did not realize this until I bought a second unit from a local store. I like my xtreme so much that I wanted a second and there was a sale locally. When I got my second unit I saw that the UPC on the box says “Americas” and the speaker itself has a serial number on it. I added to pictures to show the box and serial number. In both pictures, the Amazon unit is on top.Update 6 Jul 17:The new one I bought that is an American edition has lasted much longer on…
A Good Buy I liked this speaker so much, I bought this second JBL Extreme to pair up with my first JBL Extreme I bought myself for Christmas. The loudness and clarity factor are very satisfactory to me. Bass is loud but doesn’t drown out the treble as it would for the Bose Soundlink Mini. I own two UE Megabooms and they can’t hold a candle to these JBL Extremes. The UE Megabooms have been relegated to playing ambiance music in my house, and doing a good job at it. These Extremes, well, the fill my house with music and sound. Satisfying bass and clear trebles and a good mid range.Battery Time: The battery life has been good too. They’ve needed to be recharged after 72 hours of continuous playing at 1/5 volume level for the most time.Recharging Time: About 2 hours, sometimes less.JBL Connect: These speakers consistently connect up with each other using JBL’s connect system. I’ve also paired an Extreme with a Charge 2+ and Flip3. If only JBL would implement an…
Battery weak! I purchased this JBL extreme a little over a year ago. Battery started to have issues where it wasnt holding its charge or fully charging after leaving it plugged in. I decided to open it up and found that the battery was not 10,000 but a 5,000 mah battery named Great power. Now i have to keep it plugged in just to listen to it. Make no mistake the sound is awesome, but battery isn’t.
